CADMATIC sponsored the Finnish championships in winter swimming, which were held from 1st to 3rd February. Close to one thousand winter swimmers gathered to compete in the Aura River in front of the new CADMATIC office.

No…the competition is not about who can stay longest in ice-cold water. It is a swimming competition in 25- and 50-meter breaststroke, 25-meter freestyle and 4 x 25 meter relay. The 25-meter pool with swimming lanes and electric timing was built in ice. This was 30-year anniversary Finnish championship competition.

CADMATIC Chief Technology Officer Timo Kaltio, took part in his 10th winter swimming championships. He competed in the 25-meter breaststroke and relay, where he defended last year’s gold medal. Unfortunately, his teammate made a mistake at the start, and the team was disqualified. “It doesn’t matter, medals are nice, but not the main thing here. What is important is meeting friends and other familiar faces from different parts of Finland and different age groups in very relaxed environment,” said Timo.
