What is a digital twin?
A digital twin is a live entity of information flows that is constantly updated and the digital hub where we search for and use relevant information. The multitude of data types range from 3D CAD files, 2D documentation, live connections to external databases and layers of comments, markups, and notes that are added throughout the project life cycle. Digital twins can be created for a specific use, such as managing the construction process, or it can be incrementally-created entity with multiple uses: design reviews, change management, construction phase support, and operation and maintenance control.
