True life cycle management with BIM and 3D models

Using BIM (Building Information Modelling) for Operation & Maintenance has become a hot topic in the last few years. One company that has long been at the forefront of BIM for O&M development is Siveco China. It is the largest maintenance consultancy in China and a pioneer in the development of Maintenance 4.0 technologies. Since 2015 CADMATIC has been a Siveco Value-Added Partner. The integration between the CADMATIC eBrowser and Siveco’s bluebee® cloud is illustrated in the images and captions provided here.

As a result of the integration users can view the 3D model directly in their O&M dashboard in the bluebee® cloud web portal.

Users can zoom and navigate in the 3D model and also access and create maintenance information through a menu. Users can, for example, create work orders for selected objects.

A new Work Order has been created. The screenshot shows the Work Order screen with the equipment code of the selected 3D object.

The 3D model can be accessed from a specific equipment view as well. Here the target equipment is selected in a functional structure.

The equipment screen is opened, with a 3D view centered on the equipment available directly in the 3D view tab. From this 3D view, users can better visualize the equipment in the plant, its accessibility, connected pipes and processes. This allows users to prepare work activities more efficiently.

The same 3D view is available directly in the bluebee® cloud Work Order screen: when preparing a Work Order (or Preventive Maintenance template), users have direct access to a 3D view of the target equipment.

Users can access all eBrowser functionalities (measurements, connected objects, highlights, 3D navigation, etc.) from the equipment-centered 3D views.
