Through the eBrowser, developed already some time ago, projects made by Cadmatic can easily be sent over
Internet for approval or follow up. 3D models can be walked through, and it has been able to receive basic information
about specific items, such as a pump or a valve, by clicking on it in the 3D model. New developments in AutoCAD -
Cadmatic interfaces has now made it possible to both import and send full 3D models documentation using the
eXchanger, and also to export complete 2D documents to AutoCAD.
Enhanced AutoCAD capabilities
With Cadmatic's eXchanger module, 3D modules can be directly imported from or exported to AutoCAD. There is a
large number of transfer plug-ins to AutoCAD. With eXchanger compatibility between Cadmatic and several different
formats, such as SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor and Catia is made possible. The AutoCAD imports capability comes with the
new eXchanger plugin version 2.0.
2D exports to AutoCAD
The export feature of complete Cadmatic Piping 2D drawings to AutoCAD has been improved. These can now be stored
stored in AutoCAD dwg, or dwf formats. In addition the dxf format is still also possible, as is imports from AutoCAD to
Cadmatic.
This makes it possible to send complete 2D drawings to AutoCAD dwf viewing format, for review. The 2D drawing can be
intelligently hyperlinked to any relating data. This gives new efficient possibilities in analysing the project material.
The client can for instance click on a pump in the 3D eBrowser model to receive a complete 2D document on that particular
item or for example isometrics of the system, or he can, when viewing a 2D drawing, easily transfer to the 3D eBrowser
environment by clicking on an item or instrument symbol. Through eBrowser he can see the exact location of the item as
well as all needed documentation. Project follow-up and review is now much more efficient.
Great possibilities for viewing filed projects
Especially important is that the new capabilities allow very efficient viewing of already filed project material. Both
3D and 2D material is easily accessed for review by simple software applications. This is a great improvement, as heavy
system-dependent CAD software is not anymore needed for examining field data.
The eBrowser and eXchanger are modules that can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.cadmatic.com.
