UPM Changshu mill, China, has ordered a design and engineering project follow-up software from Cadmatic Oy Finland. The delivery is based on the use of CADMATIC Software as a main 3D plant design system in a huge paper mill project.

UPM is building a new 450,000 tonne/yr PM to produce office and other uncoated papers at the Changshu facility, which is located near Shanghai. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2005 when the new paper machine starts up.

"This deal is result of our focus in global pulp&paper industry and is also extremely important to us because the growing stronger in Asian markets is one of Cadmatic's strategic focus points. We believe that China will be one of the most important market areas in the future," says Jukka Rantala, president of Cadmatic Oy.
