Cadmatic's Internet based easy-to-use eBrowser solution connected design and engineering companies,
suppliers and end client in the project UPM-Kymmene Oyj's Wisaforest pulp mill project at
Pietarsaari, Finland. The new recovery line increases the mill's
production capacity to approx. 800 000 tonnes per year.
In addition to the new features of V5, company and product information the website invites visitors to acquaint themselves
with the concepts of World Wide Engineering, Cadmatic Life Cylcle and Everyday Engineering. The new site has
a logical layout and is easy to navigate. The "news" section will be regulary updated with information about
projects and development issues.
The investment project includes a new evaporation plant, tall oil plant, recovery boiler, turbogenerator, causticising department, lime kiln, and tie-ins with the existing mill departments.
Cadmatic software is being used in the design and engineering work. As soon as the project started, the mill has implemented plenty of eBrowser licences to facilitate comprehensive project management and follow-up, as well as data management to link all the parties in the project around the world. The mill's own engineering managers was trained along with the project, as they are able to follow the progress of the design work in real time.
"The progress of the Recovery line 3 project is continuously surveyed, using Cadmatic software, together with the operational and maintenance teams at the mill. A three-dimensional model with walkthrough capability surely beats paper copies! Although sometimes we still post papers on the wall to show everybody exactly what is going on", explains Stig Sundelin, Design Engineer at UPM Kymmene Wisaforest.
