15/9/2003 - STORA ENSO'S NEW PAPER MILL AT LANGERBRUGGE DESIGNED WITH CADMATIC 3D PLANT DESIGN SOFTWARE back to news

The entire plant design and documentation of Stora Enso's new paper mill investment at its Langerbrugge mill in Belgium, is being carried out with CADMATIC 3D Plant Design Software. Stora Enso Langerbrugge also uses CADMATIC eBrowser Software for the follow-up of the design and installation supervision of the plant.

The plant design has been carried out by Jaakko Pöyry Oyj of Finland, the main consultant for the project. At Jaakko Pöyry, tens of designers used Cadmatic Software for designing the intelligent 3D model and engineering database of the mill. The 3D model including design and engineering data was regularly sent to Landbrugge where project managers and supervisors of the mill could easily follow up the design process and comment on the design with the help of the Internet based eBrowser, CADMATIC web browser for viewing 3D models. Also some of the piping contractors of Landbrugge mill used Cadmatic eBrowser in their work.

Stora Enso's investment project at Langerbrugge comprises a new deinking plant, waste paper storage, a new paper machine including finishing equipment, a paper product warehouse, a solid fuel boiler, connections to existing plants and expansions of the fresh water and effluent treatment plants. Paper machine no. 4 at Langerbrugge is one of the world's largest newsprint paper machines with a capacity of about 400 000 tonnes per year. The total cost of the project was Euro 500 million ($581 million). The mill started up on May 30, 2003.
