15/3/2001 - IFS (Industrial & Financial Systems) and Cadmatic benefit from co-operation back to news

IFS and Cadmatic have worked in co-operation for the past year. This combination of strengths has provided significant added value for both companies

Swedish IFS is a global developer and supplier of component-based ERP systems, which are tailored to customer specifications. One part of their product palette is CAD tools for process plant design where the use of 3D modelling has increased considerably over the past few years.

"It is necessary for IFS to provide our customers with the possibility to integrate 3D design solutions with our EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) solutions, and to integrate our own design solutions with 3D design solutions. The CADMATIC Software fits into our product range very well and gives IFS the possibility to offer 3D solutions to our existing customers as well as to new customers," explains Product Sales Manager Mats Elmwall.

IFS is one of the world's fastest growing developers and suppliers of business applications. Co-operation with other companies provides IFS with additional visibility and reinforces its expertise by creating solutions for precisely determined markets

Cadmatic is compatible with the IFS product range

IFS and Cadmatic benefit from their co-operation from both a technical and marketing standpoint. In plant design IFS concentrates on maintenance and 2D engineering applications, while Cadmatic focuses on industry 3D engineering applications. In Scandinavia the two companies have a combined total of 26 offices

"Our intention is to build a world-wide marketing and support organisation for CADMATIC Software, taking the needs of the pulp and paper industry into special consideration and utilising IFS's existing international organisation. At the moment, IFS has offices on every continent in a total of 41 countries," explains Cadmatic Marketing Manager Jukka Rantala.

"There is a specified and prototyped integration between the IFS Technical Document Manager in Plant Design and the Cadmatic 3D PLANT Design. This integration is specified for the OKG Kraft AB nuclear power plant, which is also a user of both IFS Plant Design and Cadmatic 3D PLANT Design," explains Mats Elmwall.

Jukka Rantala makes his own summation on the benefits of partnership: "Cadmatic can now take advantage of the global IFS network, while the CADMATIC 3D Software is the perfect complement to the IFS product range."
